Post-Operative Instructions:
Biopsy

Avoid creating a lot of pressure in your mouth over the next 24–48 hours (no sucking through straws, spitting, or vigorously rinsing).

Try to eat softer foods for first 24 hours following surgery. A colder diet initially will feel best; however, room temperature foods are ok as well.

Keep your mouth clean. Brushing and light rinsing are encouraged.

Following surgery, eat if you have not eaten recently, and take some over-the-counter ibuprofen. You may start using the prescription pain medicine 1–2 hours after taking the ibuprofen. Alternate between the two for the first day. After that, you may use your own discretion for pain medication.
